From measurements to materials
Nominal mode splits adjusted dry volume by ratio parts. Design mode multiplies finished volume by each user-supplied quantity per m³.
Put the numbers in context
For 1 m³ at a 1.54 dry factor and 1:2:4 ratio, the loose shares are 0.22 m³ cement, 0.44 m³ sand and 0.88 m³ aggregate.
This illustrates the method; your inputs determine your result.Assumptions to check
- Finished concrete volume is already measured from the drawing or site geometry.
- Cement density and bag weight are editable conversion inputs.
Limits of this calculation
- This calculator does not design concrete or verify strength, exposure, durability, water content or admixtures.
- Use an approved design mix wherever structural specifications require one.
Common questions
Can I use the same nominal mix everywhere?
No. The calculator explicitly avoids that assumption. Use the approved project mix or supplied per-m³ quantities.
Does design-mix mode check or approve the mix?
No. It only scales values you enter from an approved design or specification.
